One paragraph
Canine Development ApS is an independent software assurance studio founded in Denmark in 2021. It builds the Codebase Assurance Index — an open standard, published under Apache-2.0, that turns the condition of a codebase into one reproducible number — together with the tools that produce and read it: Watchdog for the people who build software, and Assay for the people who buy it. The studio takes no development work, so it has no stake in what a measurement shows.

We would rather you write this accurately than flatteringly, so here is the line we hold ourselves to.
Published and checkable today
The standard, the lenses and the rubric. The reference scorer, as open source. The benchmark protocol, its adjudication rules and the statistics code — so the method can be inspected before any result exists.
Not yet published
A measured result for how much of what Watchdog reports is noise. The target is stated openly, but a target is not an achievement, and we will publish the outcome whether it is favourable or not.
If you see a percentage
Ask us where it came from. A precision figure means nothing without the definition, the sample and who adjudicated it — that argument is the reason this company exists, so we would be poor at holding it while breaking it.
